The older I get the more insane it is to me that Germany was allowed to continue existing after WW1, let alone WW2. It should’ve been cut back into a bunch of tiny principalities. A pre-Germany world was still in living memory and they destroyed Europe and you didn’t go “Oh this never should’ve been allowed to exist”
At the very fucking least it never should’ve been allowed to reunify. Especially since “reuinfication” was actually annexation of the GDR by the FRG, but even if it was the other way around it shouldn’t have been allowed to happen.
Also it should’ve been a founding part of the UN charter that it’s a crime to bring so much as a handgun into the borders of Germany or Japan except for the occupying armies.
Germany should’ve been balkanized after WWII and left to the dustbin of history.

the same thing that happened to trump’s felony conviction. the illusion of a state organ (in afd’s case the german’s intelligence and counter-terror outfit) designed to handle wrongdoing throws itself out of the nearest window so as to not be an obstacle.
