Yep, that’s what rowing does to your hands.

Those can make it worse, might depend on the glove though. Pulling fibers out of shredded skin hurts way more and you don’t get as much feedback on the oar.
This only really happens when you first start, once you’re grip isn’t strangling the oar cuz the boat isn’t set and your calluses develop, you’re fine

Honestly pulling ropes isn’t any better on the hands. If the wind is steady and you’re going with it sure you can relax but the wind is rarely steady for that long.

Honestly shovelling coal all day in a steam engine isn’t great for neither your hands or lungs.
They have gloves specifically meant for rowing, though just like with other sports avoiding pain or bodily damage makes you less masculine.
Hehe I’m sure there’s some of that too. For me that would just be one more thing for me to (mis) manage, which wasn’t worth it since my body would figure out these new requirements every year at the beginning of water season anyway. Plus I would have a valid excuse to not do dishes by hand for like a week

yea ok. then i’m again at a point where I don’t get censoring at all. We all know that “to unalive” means “kill” and even a kid would get that. We all know when a person on TV says FUCK when they put a little beep over the U but we still hear the F and CK sound.
So if we all keep doing/saying ““bad”” things but now in badly cropped memes or barely censored, then who are we doing this for? For the algorithm which would flag this automatically?
