USian here: China is one of the counter-balances to my anxiety. The rest of these losers can cope.
When I’m feeling especially despondent I look up Chinese infrastructure project videos (usually transport-related) and read about their solar panel installation records year-after-year.
Bob Dole looks at that video of them turning a whole ass bridge ninety degrees to install it and compare it to highway construction in Bob Dole’s city and how this shit has taken years and still has years to go and Bob Dole has some hope for humanity’s future.
China is just sitting there, existing and making all the stuff you buy.
Outlets like the NYT try to give you unfounded anxiety about them.

lol yeah the biggest purveyor of sinophobia bemoans pervasive anxiety about China
Maybe stop writing articles about China’s “imminent collapse” every year for like 2 decades? It might not help but it certainly wouldn’t hurt
we’re done with the collapse narrative, it’s overcapacity now
They’re definitely not done lol, a lot of times I’ll browse Bing News from the Windows taskbar at work, and there will be one article saying that China is suffering and right about to collapse, and another one just after that saying that China needs to chill because it’s taking a dump on the entire Western world, it’s peak comedy every time
haha I guess China’s in a superposition state right now, both collapsing and overproducing. News gotta cater to both types of racists I suppose.

If you live in the empire, you can often use your library card to get free access to NYT, but even if not, I think typically they’re not paywalled, just account walled, unless you try to access back catalogue.
