He’s always been like this.

He’s always been like this.

Peterson is different. JP has genuine psychological issues stemming from god knows what…but part of his mental illness is continuously trying to get revenge because he was rejected by who he thinks are his peers in the academic community.
Like…he always seems like he’s on the verge of tears or even a nervous breakdown. As a knee jerk I always feel sorry for him when I hear him speak…until I snap out of it and remember how destructive he is.

What a total clown car the USA is.
…when I was a kid and I watched Mars Attacks! and that scene happened where gramma laughed ass off when the aliens disintegrated congress…I didn’t really get it.
Now I do.

This doesn’t surprise me.
I got a job as a chef at a queer piano bar a few years back. Up until that point I had kind of put gay people on a pedestal…like…I thought all the adversity made them innately virtuous.
But while working there I had the stupidest revelation I’ve ever had: Queer people are, in fact, exactly like other people. What I mean by that is my big eureka was that some gay people that are terrible people, some are great people, and every shade in between. Some of the most openly transphobic people I’ve met, for example, are from the gay community.

Straight up. He’d already been openly racist, specifically against Somalis….and everyone fucking else.
At this point we should just admit we fucked up…conservatives are an incurable cancer, and just nuke the fucking thing from orbit. I have no hope when people are this stupid.

Anyone who supported Trump in 2024 has a broken brain. Waking up just because he happens to specifically be racist again you is just…I don’t even know what say.
To bad, so sad…fuck off?

All he really means is people should learn to accept sub minimum wage and be happy they have a shitty job.

…is closer, but not quite “filling” the suit. My guess is the company(s) can’t afford the bodies it was designed for.

That’s horrible. We have a couple provinces that do that.
The city near where I live was hit bad by outsourcing…it was a manufacturing town back in the 80s. A few years back they brought in a giant Casino with promises of making it a tourist destination. Predictably, nobody wants to come to a town that’s an armpit…so most of the gamblers are locals.

I’m not even Australian…Canadian. I just like chiming in because somebody down there is at least trying to do things…even if it’s usually shitty things.
Up here in my province in the last decade the flood gates opened on gambling…booze…everything. The government basically says “fuck you if we raise you to be an addict…give us your money until you die so rich people can pay less taxes”.

You can definitely make an argument that “proactive” protection is a strategy :)
I needed your stuff so I could have more stuff.

Yeap.
Like…depending on the nature of the collapse you might have a bunch of delusional former MAGA people in a region who all have a bunch of gold so they trade it with each other…but for the most part nobody would want it.

Now I know!

Nods. The ban is only going to protect kids that have parents who want them protected/have the technical expertise to do it.
Meanwhile all the fee range kids out there…which, let’s be honest, is most of them…are just going to find a bunch seedy apps and workarounds…and guess who else is going to be lurking in these spaces.
ETA I’m really bad at hot taking, editing, and not saying I edited.

Couldn’t be done in the US. There’s so many starving people they’d be raiding ashtrays to get fed.

Well, on my property it’s probably 70 million ants and just me. I’m doing the real work.

I don’t know what to make of this.
Who are you saying abused you?

I can’t believe it didn’t occur to me that what should actually be done is regulation of the algorithms.
It’s incredible that social media companies can basically give free crack to people and not have to disclose the recipe…at bare minimum behind closed doors to an ombudsman.

Welp…I work with kids and I previously supported the ban….but I’ve done a 180.
Yeah…you’re going to save a couple kids…but you’re also going to prevent many more kids from accessing community or services, and that going to be bet bad.
Yeap. There’s no other way to think of politicians…with very few exceptions, if any.
Any politician who gets inside the system and isn’t raising alarm bells 24-7…who tries to reach across the aisle…who tries to horse trade…who lets their vote get whipped…is too far gone.
