I’ve been playing Haste, which is this really cool rougelite runner game. The primary mechanic is altering your in-air angle to land perfectly on the downslope. It’s also a very pretty game with a good soundtrack.

You enjoying the setting ? I have been a 40k fan since around the early 2000s. Love that the Setting has been seeing some VERY faithful and good adaptations.

Big disclaimer that I knew basically nothing about 40k prior to playing this beyond the surface level stuff you just sorta absorb by cultural osmosis.

However, the setting and writing is super cool so far. One interesting thing is that the obvious hypocrisy and fascism of the empire combined with the general “everything is turned to 11 at all times” of 40k does a really decent job of nipping a lot of potential lib writing in the bud. There’s simply no room for the “moral high road” libs love hand wringing over in most other cRPGs. There’s also some cathartic quality to the fact that the setting isn’t shy about the fact that the player as the Rogue Trader is directly responsible for untold amounts of innocent deaths and brutal oppression. The exploitative system is on full display, making your violently rebelling against it (inasmuch as you can) all the more satisfying.

Fate: The Cursed King, as recommended by the Low Spec Games copypasta.

Almost finished my chemically-enhanced (ie. weed) playthrough of Xenogears.

some Warsim, some Aurora 4x, and a touch of the Xenoblade X remaster
was actually surprised how much i liked the remaster considering i beat the wii u one twice, figured i’d be burnt out on the beautiful but very flawed mech game

Do you mean Warsim the Realm of Aslona ? If so. I REALLY need to get back at that game. The dev kept tinkering on that forever and it deserves more of my time.

how is the remaster compared to the original? i have been wanting to play it for a while but haven’t had the time. does the wiiu version sitll holds up or does the remaster made it obsolete? i prefer to play the original but if it’s a way better version i could accept the new one

not got too far in for lack of time, but so far it’s been mostly UI improvements and better graphics, but i have heard that there is some added content as you go further in
have not got to the part where the wii u gamepad used to come into play, but if that has a decent UI i would say it does make the original pretty much obsolete yeah

i guess for context i beat the original once on my actual wii u and once on cemu emulator and am now playing the remaster on ryujinx

Horizon: forbidden west. Just got to the “west” after the intro area. It’s a fun open world game, they’ve made combat quite a bit better so far, we’ll see if it last for the fifty plus hours it will take to finish.

I also finally started satisfactory, and got my factory to the space elevator and recently switched to coal power. I need to setup several more iron mines to really get production capable of building all things I need it seems. At some point I also need to switch to factory flors instead of just building on the ground, but I’ll need to get some materials in order to figure that step out.

Ive been playing rift of the necrodancer. Ive never been one for rhythm games outside of playin rockband with friends when I was a kid but holy shit this game is good. Its got a really good twist on the notes coming down the board in that theyre all lil enemies with varying mechanics. Bats that switch lanes after bein hit, harpies that move two tiles every other beat and a few others.

Having really simple mechanics changing up the rhythm game formula has just sucked me in

I havent started yet, but I want to play Emperor of the Fading Suns: Enhanced.

It’s a space 4X game with a planetary layer and a focus on warfare and political machinations, set in a totally-not-Dune/40k-inspired universe. It’s an old game from the 1997, but now it can actually be played without slowdowns. It was very ambitious for its time. Now with stuff like Modding support and cleaner pixels etc.

I’ve been playing Last of Us 2 on pc. It’s pretty fun.

I don’t know how I feel about the story yet, it’s not told chronologically and I feel that it is to its own detriment.

You aren’t really built up to caring for the characters and some of their developments fall flat. But I haven’t finished it yet so idk.

Also the dialogue is uniquely “game-like” in some circumstances and it’s jarring when it happens.

I will say though…gameplay wise. It is out-fucking-standing I mean some of the best I’ve ever encountered. Stealth bordering on metal gear levels of quality with quick and fluid combat to back it up. The AI outsmarts me, flanks, fakes me out, etc…

So far I’ve enjoyed the encounters the best and the rogue like mode second.

Maybe the story will grow on me. I’m not sure

factorio has once again captured me in its claws. i got factorio again to play the new stuff but i haven’t still reached rocket tech. im using a lot of online blueprints so i can skip to the new stuff. im also playing without enemies because frankly they are disgusting and I always have a visceral reaction to them. it makes the game easier for sure but by not that much.
