Storage or Internal Memory… which is it?
I saw a laptop ad where they referred to the storage as ROM, e.g. “500GB ROM/16GB RAM” 😂
Then again, EPROMs are rewritable yet “read-only”…
Better late than never. We shouldn’t strive to produce garbage, and that’s exactly what phones with less internal storage are made to be.
32 is still pretty low. I’d like to see that bumped up another factor. 64GB would be more practical, given the nature of recording in 4k.
Not necessarily but generally 64gb should be a better minimum. For example, dedicated e-readers can get away with 32gb storage probably.
Dedicated e-readers are not typically shooting for play services certification anyway. So those companies could care less about any Google requirements.
Fair point
Some people don’t need their phone for much and forcing them to buy larger storage devices than they need is not the right thing to do. Granted, 16gb nowadays is very low, but 32 is enough for a few basic applications. If you want more space, simply buy more, there are more than enough options. But a minimal requirement of 64gb is realy weird, because you could operate it with a lot less and taking product options from the consumer is rarely the right thing to do.

With SSD prices as they are, bumping 32 to 64 would cost, IDK, one or two dollars.
So I imagine the limit is stupid-low-but-functionnal (sort of) so that you can charge $50 more for 64GB for example.
I think they should go for a 64GB minimum. It is still tiny, but you can manage for some time at least.
