I remember at the place near me, after you used the machine and put the printout into a folder that staff assured was “absolutely confidential”, it was immediately handed over to a guy who opened it and looked inside before putting it into one of several piles.
When I asked what he was doing they said he was “checking for completeness” and using his peripheral vision so he couldn’t see who you voted for. When I pressed them on it one of the supervisor types told me “if you’re done voting, you’re done being here” and said he was gonna call the cops unless I stopped “harassing” them
He was making sure your votes weren’t tampered with by the CHINESE
It must be the uh, electrical, uh, infetterance, uh, prevention protocol. I definitely trust these people to handle everyone’s votes by haphazardly stacking them on a desk out of sight in the corner of the room, putting them in unlabeled and unsecured plastic containers, and then carting them off in their personal vehicles with zero supervision!
Uh well, not zero supervision. A cop rode with them to transport the ballots to a “more central location for final packaging” so I’m told, by one of sketch staffers. I definitely trust cops!
Wait till you hear what they did to all the Puerto Rican votes.

That is… interesting. A place that isn’t even America, that has essentially a living history sort of thing of '50s America, and an Elvis impersonator.

I know that I would struggle to really enjoy myself in an early Cold War era Americana “experience that place and time yourself” history exhibit, from the moment I saw a piece of period typical McCarthyist crap, to the moment I left. Because that was a scary place and time to be a communist, and I’m like… I do like and talk about a lot of other things, but I’m not good at hiding that I’m a commie. I’ve been in places that feel like stepping back in time into the late Cold War period, and… it’s fun for about fifteen minutes, a bit more fun if I dress the part in my mom’s old clothes, then I start to feel panicky and jumpy.

I was the only one from my district to vote green in 2020
They weren’t on the ballot in my state so I had to do a write in and the person who held onto the records for that year recognized my handwriting lol

He’s called Kjell Elvis (real name Kjell Henning Bjørnestad), he’s had plastic surgery to look more like Elvis and he once broke the world record for most time spent continuously singing Elvis songs when he sang continuously for 26 hours, 4 minutes and 40 seconds straight in August of 2003.

Yes I know Kjell Elvis lives in Lyngdal now but he grew up in Vanse and has a star on the walk of fame there is the point. Also this is the festival I’m referring to, the site also has some information on the several locations in Vanse based on or named after locations in Seppoland.
