Kirk was such an asshole, yet somehow we’ve gotten to the point where we aren’t supposed to say that. News coverage has been inundated with whitewashed, and whitewashing, coverage. Educators aren’t allowed to say that a guy who, laughed at Pelosi’s husband’s attack, said gays should be killed (stoned), blamed violence on immigrants, and dog-whistled non-stop, was a bad person. Fucking hell. I can’t say I’m surprised, but this country is so freaking backwards right now.

What strikes me is that suddenly reels in Facebook is flooded with Charlie Kirk debates. All of them where he is pretty decent, or debating people that can’t actually debate well at all. There was one with a queer person he traps into defining ‘queer’. The person couldn’t really answer.

You can imagine the divisive comments, one group mourning him, saying we lost a genius philosopher and debater, the other hating on him, because of the hate he spread.

The fact that the reels are pretty much all of him being relatively moderate, or against people that he can easily beat in a debate, the negative reactions towards Charlie will seem extra hateful to third parties that don’t actually know him or his more hateful side. The people criticizing him in the comments seem exaggerating , or way out of control.

This is the exact tactic they used when he was alive. His videos all showed him when he was winning a debate, or giving a clever comeback. They never showed all the debates he lost when he debated someone articulate or more clever than himself.

They say if you suppose you are of medium intelligence, that means that about 50% of people will be less intelligent than you. They are using these reels to manipulate the narrative of the majority of people. Nudging the collective minds of people towards a facist world view one reel at a time.

Which makes me extra glad he is dead. Because he might have decided to get into politics and had a real shot at the presidency. Which would have been scary as hell. I even believe he could beat the hell out of Vance in a debate and would have won over the Maga crowd. Something Vance can’t do.

Yeah, it’s call fascism and it’s only the beginning. Americans voted for this, twice. My advice for people living in the US who are not die-hard maga: get the fuck out of there while you can.

This is the government punishing speech, could not be more clear. I hope the ACLU swoops in on this.

They still matter, though. What are you on about? The fight isn’t over, and that’s one channel where the fascists can be fought back. Americans need to be book smart and street smart, and they’ve shown they can do both.

There’s this website and it opens in Tor browser.

Actual submissions need to be done by email afaics, and I don’t really have the means to do that anonymously, but it accepts bogus email subscriptions about half the time.

    wink wink nudge nudge.

The actually smart ones knew that celebrating the death of anyone publicly as a teacher is both unprofessional and probably unethical, and kept everything to themselves. This is very much a case of expected consequences.

Teachers are a special category of public figure, and are expected to at least keep an appearance of decorum. This diminishes somewhat after 12th grade when attendance is no longer legally required, but even in University it doesn’t go away completely.

Quite the opposite. It isn’t exactly a sign of brightness when you glorify political violence as a teacher.

You’re right about that. If their coworkers and unions aren’t acting now, there may never be as good of an opportunity. It only gets harder to stop fascists.
