This reads exactly like the type of gun nut obsessed with “home defense”. They spend all day arguing and grandstanding about the specific line where it becomes “okay” to kill someone. Then they kill a harmless old man with dementia who stumbled into their yard at 3 AM and it was a very regrettable accident. Personally, I think having a history of obsessing over this stuff should be sufficient to argue intent in court.
