They might realize they can capitalize both markets and be an early adopter to a formerly niche market. Nothing will stop them from passing the “glance ai” on suckers and selling identical hardware with a security focused OS.
They don’t need to stop, GrapheneOS will just be an officially supported alternative OS. Their own Android flavour can still be as full of crap as ever.
not so sure, but motorola and lenovo does kinda seem separate tho.
motorola devices have kernel sources on github with full git commit history, my lenovo device (Tab P11 / TB-J606F) had only one kernel source release in a tarball that is not up to date with the stock fw, missing a lot of drivers and doesn’t even compile properly (lol)

Exactly. Dell did it for years with some of their laptop models offering Linux.
It’s not like a company can’t do both on some devices so long as the sales support it.

Tbh its actually Lenovo using the Motorola brand, Motorola hasnt made consumer smartphones in years.
