AI doesn’t need to hijack the world’s nuclear arsenal to wipe out humanity, they can just engineer the deadliest virus known to mankind.
This has always been a possibility, even without AI (mutations). However, used correctly, we could find new ways to treat all kinds of diseases. Cancer is one of the main focuses, but there is no limit with CRISPR tech.
Nukes might actually be preferable depending on the symptoms of the plague

Some bad actors are using these models, and some of them are state sponsored, with labs.
That sounds like a wonderful plan, and a thing that the people who own the world and control everything would never use as a way to wipe out dissent and the poors once they manage to automate all out jobs and need a way to stop us complaining about lack of money and food.
I trust them completely with this along with the similar research into both horrific new viruses to wipe out humanity and cures for themselves for said viruses that they can already by from human researchers because of all of their money and control over all of the everythings.
