Is it a joke? Am I missing a joke?
DSA are being hardcore pushed because the people winning seats through them are all socdems who openly say that they are capitalists. It’s even to the benefit of the state itself not to actually prevent DSA from succeeding but to make sure that the ones that succeed within it are not socialists. All the socialists and communists can be pushed as long as they are just voices pushing DSA candidates that are social capitalists. Hasan may be totally sincerely a socialist but as long as he’s not the electoral candidate he becomes an ally to the actual capitalists who are winning the seats.

he is totally sincere and is aware that he’s doing this, but chooses to do so anyways.
Might end up being a party switch sort of thing, where the Liberal party will lose power and the DSA will replace them as one of the two neoliberal capitalist parties. The liberal “just vote!” worked as a way to vent pent up frustration of the working class for decades, but it is working less and less when the two major parties are increasingly identical and ghoulish. It’s possible they might try and have a vaguely “left wing” party replace the democrats to redirect the working class back into the “just vote” trap again.
this happened in the uk during their last election and the party switch – from labor to green in the uk’s case – ended up being in name only. the green party now is becoming okay with the palestinian genocide because of this switch.
It’s way too early to say anything about what the nature of a party switch in the UK is yet. It hasn’t even happened at most levels of government.
Basically like what happened with the Labour/LibDem dynamic under Starmer. Shit, they’re even running the same playbook by screeching about antisemitism. T minus 30 days until we have an NYT article talking about Long Piker.
Never underestimate the imagination of a liberal.
I will say, with the current admin repeatedly threatening to deport him (a natural born US citizen), while I don’t think Hasan is a Nelson Mandela figure, doing that is a good way of turning him into one
Fucking Gandi?
Listen I’m not one to talk about being an effective leftist, but I’m 99% sure that no revolution will ever come from pandering to liberals
So this is very unlikely to be an actual Hasanabi head, I think this is a sincere post by a typical “anti-trump liberal” account. The only reason they know Hasan is cause he has been plastered across American MSM for 4 months straight, especially by Fox News who got things going until the others jumped in full force 4 weeks ago. Since they are more culture warriors (largely for the right reasons) more than political tacticians ( being liberal and having read no theory at all, not even watching Hasan or anyone to the left of the pod johns), you end up with tone deaf stuff like “wow the republicans really hate this guy, he must be pretty awesome”.
Maybe i have that wrong, but it’s an interesting time because pretty much all younger liberals are agnostic to positive on the DSA these days. I remember how key in my development it was to see Bernie crushed in 2020 after winning Nevada. The Democrats are now being faced with either doing that again, but even harder and a whole new generation of politically aware people watching, or they are going to need to respond to the tension growing on the U.S. left, which will also be dramatic. The corporate wing will need to either split the party, or join the Republicans.
If anyone has any ideas of a 4the scenario (purge DSA, corpos split off, corpus change parties, and ???) I would be interested. The more I think about it, the DSA purge is most likely by far.
4th option is the populares get assassinated repeatedly until the republic collapses. Or something idk
that hasan becomes new chomsky (leftest acceptable position in polite society), a worse replacement intellectually and ethically
How is Hasan worse intellectually and ethically than Chomsky? He’s a supporter of AES countries and projects and doesn’t associate with Epstein
In 40 years he will be in the mr beast files
As I stated months ago, Hasan is getting attacked from all sides due to his prominent and emphatic anti-zionism. People should be very precise with their criticisms of his stances and commentary, otherwise you are just contributing to Zionist attacks.
I actually have like an ounce of respect for Choksky remaining (which he probably doesnt deserve, but its complicated), and “Hasan is worse than chomsky” is one of the most ridiculous things i’ve seen posted on this site. There is a ton of discussion about his actions and positions that we could have (and I’ve participated in directly in the past), but this is absolutely the way to get into that.
Chomsky: “He made Manufacturing Consent though”
okay, ethically about the same as one washed vietnam war into support blue but disapprovingly, the other washed gaza genocide into vote blue, but disapprovingly, intellectually - are you for real?
I feel like Mandela looked younger than that in 1952
