The Soviet Union collapsed because it essentially was an end game capitalistic system. With very few owners, one could argue one owner. It’s the aspiring goal of unchecked capitalism.

Russia then replaced it, with an umbrella of oligarchs and most Western countries. Most notably the US. Has copied a similar system, it’s rotten to the core.

We’re not going to see an improvement of our current system, before an elite class in one society is removed. Personally I think the US, UK or China will see the first uprising.

We need to either tax capital higher than base yields or tax death/inheritance to a degree generational wealth can’t occur.

Everything points to capitalism being the best system we know of, but we need to counter the problems that arises from it.

  • need to crowd fund a comedy statue that will get them loads of publicity?

Because it gives them loads more of publicity, also people loves to be involved if they have a chip in it.

Why do people buy subscriptions for the biggest streamers, earning 10s of thousands of dollars in ad revenue each month? Because they want to be a part of it, they want to chip in to let the show go on

  • I used to work with a guy that’d make everyone laugh, and estimate tasks like he’d never get shit done.

He wasn’t the fastest developer, but his quality was alright. I’m pretty confident everyone else however got more shit done, simply because it was a lot nicer and calmer to work those projects.

Any large project needs the moral boosters, for smaller projects it’s a little more complicated

  • Except we have lost more than 10,000 STEM PhDs from federal departments since Trump entered office

And where did they go? Silicon Valley, Europe or China? This doesn’t necessarily mean the US has less PHDs available.

And 15% less PhD applicants, 21% less of foreign PhD applicants

We can hope the 21% drop of foreign applicants for PHD programmes, is reflecting the job market. But I’ve not seen any data suggesting Silicon Valley having bigger trouble than usually attracting talent when flying million dollar a year contracts in their faces.

OpenAI, Google, Meta and all the other jazz is still attracting the talent. Unfortunately.
