Certain students may no longer receive the same loan for their studies as what counts as "professional" will determine how much they get.

Why Architects of all things? That’s one of the most brutal degrees I know of.

I can see the chud reasoning behind the other ones, but why Architect?

He’s a property developer so maybe he sees them as a waste of money. He thinks he can design a building better and hates having to put up with someone else’s tastes. Or he just doesn’t understand the job and thinks all you need is an engineer and a contractor.

Accountants is another weird one for him. But I guess people charging you to tell you how to spend your own money is bad.

Too gay is probably my guess

These people will come after everyone. People cheering on nursing being deemed not professional will have an about face when their job as a mechanic is too ‘poor’ for a standard republican,

There isn’t really a nursing shortage. That’s mostly marketing to get more people to attend nursing school so they can saturate the market and drive down wages. What there is a shortage of is nurses willing to work bedside for shit pay, terrible ratios and no protections. It’s so bad that somewhere between a third and half of new nurses leave the profession within the first two years after graduation.

Deep sexism caused this to be on the list. They’re imagining nurses as an airheaded bimbo role that barely matters.

So they’re basically picking degrees with higher rates of employment to be classified as “not professional” so students get worse terms on student loans for those degrees, right?

Probably something like that. There’s also been a considerable amount of union activity in nursing spaces, from what I’ve seen. Gotta undermine them every angle they can, I imagine.

Can’t have that. Last thing anybody wants is being treated by a nurse with benefits and better income.

I’ve heard that, probably due to AI (hype or not), graduates fresh out of college are not even getting hired anymore. Every CEO in 2025 thinks they can give their existing staff whatever chatGPT thing and then the senior devs now have a junior dev assistant that costs $10-$500/month.
