Yesterday someone from the executive office came in to the sales department with a printout of a graphic design that was two variants of a moon and stars with a circle around them. Oh black outline, white fill, black crescent moon and stars, and the other inverted same design.
He asked everyone in my office what first came to mind. I said the first thing I thought of was yin and yang, of course the IT guy said “light mode and dark mode” other answers were similarly innocuous.
He mentioned that someone above him (who could only be the owner) said he thought it might be “problematic”. So I had to satisfy my curiosity and asked why.
The owner said “it looks Islamic”. Said owner is in the Epstein files.
For anyone curious as of the time of me asking, 21 of us answered anything but “looks Islamic”.

I just wish I could find work. Lost my last job to bullshit reasons like 8 months ago and I can barely get an interview even though I’m applying all over the place and a bunch of these places are supposedly urgently hiring. If I can’t find work within the next two months my wife and I are fucked and it is massively stressing me out
Manager told us this week that client numbers will go up for our team because we have been present so much and are doing well. Other teams with more sick leaves who have not done so well now get to move some of their clients to us so we too can start doing poorly. Great.

Im on a smoke break, finally got one after 4 hours of non stop dinner rush. I feel tired and nauseously hungry and still need to finish service and do clean up. The dishwasher tonight is the chef’s wife so we wont have a dishwasher while closing
Had an interview this week for a position closer to my field. Interview went well, was told I’d hear back by Monday. I’m still pretty optimistic about it, but we’ll see.
I was on vacation this week. I do not feel rejuvenated and will not be any more prepared to work on Monday than I was a week ago.
Starting a new job on monday and so incredibly nervous I’m having trouble sleeping + stress nightmares. I don’t like the career I’m in and I keep thinking that I’m going to get fired five minutes after I walk through the door (I lasted at my previous job doing the same sort of work for two years).

That literally does not work for me, my dreams get absolutely wild instead. Which is fine by me.

My pretax income is close to $90k, after tax and health insurance it’s closer to $50k, after rent it’s about $30k
Groceries alone cost my family about $1500/mo minimum (we usually eat one meal a day) so real expendable income is closer to $12k at the end of the year.
I also have one of the highest paying jobs in my area …

I’m torn between pretending to know what opsec is + adhering to it and treating this thread like a mini diary but I can’t-not indulge
I’m finally ending a month-long semi unemployment stint that started with me quitting a long term position that exposed me to too many legal risks (via very unsafe work practices I was incentivized to sign for).
Managed to acquire two jobs that will allow me to return to / live in my birth country and finally see my spouse more than a few times a year.
Unfortunately with the two new positions I’m reminded of the donkey and his 3 masters. The first company is unorganized and not very supportive. The second is unpredictable and despite requiring me to travel across the U.S for training this next monday, only shared the arrangements and schedule today- which isn’t a good sign this early on and did not allow me to prepare myself much at all.

Had the longest truck to unload, followed on my next shift by the smallest truck to unload. This company is fucking WINNING at just-in-time logistics.
