I think you underestimate how much of a boon to the world the Trump administration’s incompetence and mismanagement has been.
The Iran War and ICE have obviously been really bad, but it’s not like the USA can go two years without starting an unprovoked war and indulging in some mass incarceration and murder of its own citizens anyway. The upshot has been that the propaganda around it has been so awful that the USA’s influence is severely diminished, it’s traditional partners and allies have all but abandoned them, a ton of international propaganda outlets have been reduced in funding if not entirely destroyed. Even the rest of NATO is now ranging from “Ugh” to “No way” when asked to join wars of aggression.
Last thing the world, or China, needs is replacing Trump with someone competent.
