Well… huh. That’s actually a pretty good article.
Obviously it’s pro-law enforcement and advocates such charming concepts as the importance of duty over conscience, but it’s also clearly written by someone that’s pretty well educated on anarchist philosophy and knows their shit about the organization of political movements in the US. It also doesn’t absolve the police of culpability for inciting violence. Given how often it’s brought up for people to dunk on the police, I kinda expected it to be… I’m not sure. A little bit less uncomfortably accurate in both it’s characterization and predictions. Don’t love that.

I’m starting to think Soros isn’t following through on the deal we made. It’s we destroy or at least work towards destroying western civilization and we are doing our job but I haven’t met anyone who got the promised check yet.
Why is this hard to understand? In pre-industrial times, people lived very simple lives. If people today were willing to live the lifestyle of a Medieval peasant, most people with white collar jobs could work just a few years and then retire. So if you start an anarchist group that seeks to provide just the bare necessities of life to people, it can be done very affordably. 95% of the economy is luxuries. (If you define “luxury” as beyond basic subsistence.)
in the US you have to work a fulltime job for health insurance, because of shitty public transport you also need a car. You have to have stable housing or at least an address for mail to go to. There are certainly ways to make these things cheaper like having roommates or carpooling, but the system is set up to keep us working full time. Many of the cheaper living situations such as living in a car or RV are being legislated into crimes. Private equity is buying up apartments and mobile home parks to raise the rent by insane amounts. Just live simply isn’t so simple if you need healthcare.
And EVERYBODY needs, or will need, health care. None of us gets out of here alive.
I’m kinda just planning to die and leave my moderate savings to my family when I get to that point. Better they have it than some healthcare executive.
They are trying very hard to make sure you die penniless. Modest middle class inheritances are a thing of the past.
First they strap you with enormous student loans, to eat up any possible excess or disposable income you may have for the next several decades.
Then they raise the prices of EVERYTHING, especially required big ticket items like housing and cars.
Then they get you spending a fortune on a healthcare plan with $10,000 a year in premiums, and a $6000 deductible before you get those benefits, so more money wasted on nothing.
They keep taxes high on workers, while the rich get every tax break they demand, and then spend the treasury on themselves, instead of any relief for the citizens.
And throughout your life, they suppress wages as much as possible, kill unions, strip worker’s rights, weaponize layoffs, etc. keeping you grateful to keep your non-livable wage, because it’s better than the alternative - nothing. After all, we have student loans, high rent, high vehicle costs, high healthcare premiums and deductibles, and we can’t afford to leave any income behind, even if it’s inadequate. It’s better than nothing, but it’s still so low, that every household needs a second, and even a third and fourth income.
And if you are lucky to have anything left over, here’s a fun and exciting, and HIGHLY ADDICTIVE, gambling app, so you can win back all that money. Don’t worry if you lose money, ITS FUN!
Finally, at the end of your life, your health insurance that you’ve now spent a significant portion of your lifetime income on, drains every last nickel you have left, leaving your children to figure out how to pay for your burial expenses.
Society has been engineered to take it all from us before we die.
Yeah, that’s why I’m holding on to everything I can and just not engaging with those money sinks. Better I give my loved ones a leg up than blow it on maintaining a miserable quality of life anyway.

This is how the “Slippery Slope” works. First it’s just the same casino gambling as the Hard Rock Casino up the street, so it’s okay. Then it’s sports betting because that’s already going on anyway, we might as well make it legal, so we can get the same money that crooks used to covet.
Now it’s evolved to gambling on Candy Crush (essentially), and attracting a new audience that has never been much of a gambling audience, but if we can sell them gambling’s dopamine hits as a solution to middle-aged ennui, we can make a fortune.
Women are often the stewards of the family’s finances. In a couple of years, we’ll be reading stories about women who lost the family home because they gambled away the mortgage on their phones.
