I remember learning that the entire Dyson sphere concept was made as a joke and it kinda sucked, but it also just reinforced that there is no Earth 2.0, there is no hope of finding salvation in space. We’re here now and we have to fix the problems we’ve created in our only home in the universe. You could get humanity to travel much further, if you could create artificial reproduction and send out a pod, that only activates under certain circumstances, however… the children of the pod wouldn’t have any parents and there’s a mountain of ethical issues that cannot be easily solved.
