I was walking through a public cemetary that had a section full of freemasons’ symbols, so I looked it up online and was served the freemasons’ subreddit. It’s got some good stuff.

Like this guy celebrating getting initiated:
On one hand these secret societies are silly as hell on the other hand there’s some great freemason buildings in my city (no longer used by them) plus they’ve managed to make new friends as adults which is no small feat
honestly we need state intervention on the “make new friends as adults” front. I’m talking state backed bowling leagues (and other stuff) that you get paid for attending. Call it a direct investment in the social fabric.
I don’t think you need to pay people to attend so much as put in legal third-place protections so they can’t be ratfucked into nonexistence by landlords but that’ll never happen
I need to make an effort post about how third-spaces were thought up as a concept by a chud boomer. Until then watch this video in the background as you do something else https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8E5MegoW2pA
There are a bunch of ways you could do it for sure, the hard part in currently-existing society is giving people more free time without them feeling pressured to use that free time to make money.
you will bowl all 10 frames!COUSIN, I AM NO LONGER *ASKING* YOU TO GO BOWLING!

Legitimately the worst thing imaginable
it’s called joining a communist party
I support this.
I literally just joined a state sponsored softball league. It’s completely free and the city pays for the umpires and parks
It seems like some of these Lodges are just excuses for dudes to grill, which is just good-hearted fun, and some of them are ghoulish. Land of contrasts, just like people who play vampire: the masquerade

Is that the freemasons fault or is that a joke about their very dull reality?
I found a YouTube link in your comment. Here are links to the same video on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:
The corporate executives and politicians who maintain the status quo make up senior leadership to the point it is beyond coincidence and lean into the deliberate intention.
You know, if someone is going to join a ‘secret’ society, they should at least join one that’s actually secret
The Freemasons are functionally a country club and honestly they’re pretty transparent about it all. Like not the internals, that’s all chattenham house rules, but like you can just ask them about it
My secret society is multidimensional anonymous. They provide sweet directors cut commentary on movie night.
i’ve always assumed the masons existed so that guys could get their dick sucked by other guys in secret and I mean that both literally as in gay fellatio and also in the sense of being a sycophant
my great grandfather was a mason of some local repute
my grandfather was asked to be initiated and he was like
“actually i dont join things like this without knowing what you stand for, what you do, and what my place would be. Go fuck yourself.”
annnnd now i’m realizing some shit about myself and where it came from as i say it lol
(to say i’ve flubbed and snubbed people for them not being willing to explain themselves is an understatement)
post in daylight or not at all imo
Secret society membership numbers really fell off after the Sasquatch hunting craze took off

this dog is conspiring to keep doggy treats expensive
And making pet ownership a luxury experience with insanely high vet bills.
I’ve assumed for a while that freemasons are mostly chuds because of all the old people and the No PoLiTiCs rule.
An old friend had a side-job as a waiter/server in the local lodge. She had an NDA and wouldn’t tell us too many details, but based on what they ate, I’d say either chuds or very old people (or both, I guess). Lots of meat, gravy and potatoes and very little else.
I guess it depends on the ‘branch’? I know a radical vegan hare Krishna Freemason.
New type of guy dropped
The biggest electoral left figure in France is openly freemason
Allende was a mason iirc
so was pinochet apparently

Masonic infighting?..
the Chilean Coup aka the 666th Masonic civil war
Yeah, but you have to consider Freemasonism with Burger Characteristics.
Its just a petite bourgeois networking operation. The chuds in my town are almost all free masons and some of them work as real estate agents and their boss is also a free mason.
Like why would I ever want to associate with gouls like that?
I was gonna say, the petit bougie support group sounds like it would be right wing by default
What’s wrong with the Masons?! I’m a Mason! Hey, that fella’s talkin’ about me!
And that makes a difference, doesn’t it?My father is/was a Freemason. Idk if he still is, I’ve disowned him. I used to mow his Lodge’s lawn for a bit of extra money as a kid.
Anyway it’s been turned into an illuminati themed tavern.
Anyway it’s been turned into an illuminati themed tavern
So, still Freemasons then
I’m guessing it’s the exclusivity that makes the difference.
New World Order? More like New World Ordering a round of shots

why doesnt this guy just ring up the bilderburgs and rothschilds or whatever and tell them to cut it out smh
on another instance i was asking whats th deal with freemasons and somebody made a freemason throwaway to answer our questions so assuming that was real they could be amongst us
It’s just a social club for dudes. Guys gotta have some pageantry to excuse hanging out, but not the gay kind, to hang out regularly. Unless it’s a sports or drinking thing. Or if they’re gay.
Or under 35.
Can you link to the post if you remember it? Im so fascinated with them
I’m stealing this:
This isn’t the lodge. Speak your mind…
@CARCOSA@hexbear.net tagline plz
done, thank you
Thank you for your service
I never realized that Freemason outfits were so
Dweebish
Seems to be the classic “petit borgies larping as working class with silly costumes”. I think the aprons are based on stone and metal working attire.
Free Mason are fucking weird. They are ideology all over the place. My father in law and his family are all masons. My wife thought about joining back in what we call “the before times” back before our eggs cracked and we were more reactionary. And the stuff she would tell me is wild.
You have to spill the beans and tell all the good stories now

Its been over the years. I’ve asked her to compile some things. She kind of had a moment realizing some of the things when she said “yeah I guess it’s not a normal thing for a random stranger to come to my grandpa’s funeral and give part of the eulogy”
I’ll share what else she had to say when she isn’t high lol.
Sweet
Wife here. Some examples of weird stuff.
When my grandfather (a Mason) died, a guy in a sash came to his funeral and rattled off a 15-minute-long memorized speech about honor and death and the Freemason’s of King Solomon’s temple and some shit I barely remember because it was 15 minutes long with no text to read. He had no papers to reference and did not stutter or pause at all the whole time. Wild stuff.
Additionally, my mother has noticed some tendencies from when my father (a Mason) travels. When he’s out and about there are times when he will ask things like “Do you travel often?” or similar things, and will have strange stilted conversations about the weather and directions depending on the response. It’s clearly some kind of coded language that neither my mother or me know.
At a point before my transition, I was considering joining up, since the way my father talked about the Freemasons made them sound pretty cool. I had some text to read up on that’s publicly available, and I gotta say the whole thing was strange as fuck. My dad has repeatedly stated “The freemasons are not a secret society. They’re a society with secrets.” and while that’s true, it sure gives off super culty vibes. There’s rank levels that have special names. Elders who have been there for a while have the ability to Blackball someone and basically kick them out from ever being considered to be a Mason, and they can do it anonymously. Huge Boy’s club stuff.
Also, there’s a whole separate organization for the wives of Masons. My mom is not a part of it, and the women aren’t allowed to be part of the Freemasons directly, but they can be in this supportive group, of which I forget the name. Apparently this group of wives does things like cleaning the temple, prepping it for events, but not being allowed to participate in the events, and generally just hyping up their men. Presumably it allows the women to all get together and gossip about everyone else in town whose husbands aren’t masons.
Thank you!
Tolstoy warned us about this.
Quasimodo?
Tolstoy had random chapters in War and Peace where he would dunk on the Masons.
I thought you were doing a Sopranos reference
I’m reading the image in your post and trying to figure out how some of your will triangulate this into a bad thing before I read the comments.
Probably say something about how he’s a lib for not talking about the genocide or some shit. Let’s see.
Edit: yeah, I guess we’re going with the discredit their opinion route by bringing up the entirety of the problematic history of the Masons.

Lol
I just found the dichotomy funny
Don’t mind me, just talking shit
