Financial obesity is an existential threat to any society that tolerates it, and needs to cease being celebrated, rewarded, and positioned as an aspirational goal.

Corporations are the only ‘persons’ which should be subjected to capital punishment, but trillionaires should be forced to transition into billionaires, and billionaires should be euthanised through taxation.

In his empty head, there might be some connection to the Conservative Propaganda about people starving under Socialism, vs a Socialist opening grocery stores, and we’re supposed to see that as “Irony,” rather than popping a hole in their “Socialists Starve People” trope.

He’s just not smart enough, or sober enough, to follow the mental path beyond “Har, har, look at this Socialist with food, har, har. Ironic, huh?”

The meme of communism being the root cause of the starvation in the USSR and China is infuriating to me because it stops people from seeing the valuable lesson that’s actually there: the destruction caused by ideology taking precedence over evidence and a system that cannot see or adapt to evidence that it’s made the wrong decision.

A well run communist nation would have run optional trial programs to test lysenkoism. It would have slowly ramped it up, seeing if it actually produced results, all while promising those trying it that if it failed they’d be given food, and if it succeeded they’d be allowed to keep some of the surplus.

No way to safely test the 5 pests campaign though. Gotta have people who understand agriculture and ecology make agricultural decisions to stop that.

Regardless though, these problems aren’t innate to communism. Reaganism/Thatcherism are of the same nature. And fascists did it far more egregiously than anyone else, partly because their ideology is built on explicitly rejecting non ideological thought and all old ways of doing things. If communists call watering crops communism, fascists will build tents to keep their plants dry.

The USSR and China were and are not Communist countries. Just because they call themselves Communist, doesn’t mean they have anything to do with Marxism.

Absolutely correct. I’d go so far as to proclaiming it a base aspect of the human condition.

Prehistoric survival strategy that hasn’t uniformly left the species/adapted to the modern world.

Reaganism/Thatcherism are of the same nature. And fascists did it far more egregiously than anyone else, partly because their ideology is built on explicitly rejecting non ideological thought and all old ways of doing things.

Also absolutely correct, and they know that.

Even a moron like Musk, who I genuinely believe couldn’t correctly ID 10 pieces of irony even if they all floppily cockslapped his stupid face, is aware of why he peddles the drivel he does.

What is the irony? That he thinks the original plan was to give away food for free then they realized they have to charge something? I’m pretty sure charging something was always the plan just not with the intent of a for profit model.

I don’t see the problem. I’d rather people be able to afford to eat and feed their families.

Anyone who has a problem with affordable groceries, in a period of time where the cost of living outweighs being able to afford groceries; can go fuck themselves with a rusty Trident.

I don’t think that it’s going to matter if they do. The very fact that they are offering groceries at a lower price will put pressure on grocery businesses to shave their margins, which are already quite large due to “inflation”. (These places posted insane profits in the years since tte pandemic started, and even more after it was declared over).

Musk is such a fucking waste of oxygen. This is how he tricks people into thinking he isn’t as dumb as a lobotomized sunfish. He smugly says a bunch of bullshit just vague enough to fool other idiots into playing along because they want to feel smart too. There’s nothing ironic about the news story he referenced. He’s a fucking moronic narcissist who hears something and without even bothering to process the information immediately assumes he understands it on a level beyond everyone else. And if you press him on it even slightly he’ll just say you have a tiny brain or call you a pedophile or some shit.

It’s not physically possible for him to spend the amount of money he could produce, on things that he could personally use.

The most expensive house sold in the US cost $0bn (to the nearest billion).

The most expensive private island that I can find any reference to online, Larry Ellison’s island in Hawaii, cost $0bn (likewise).

The most expensive painting ever sold at auction, Leonardo da Vinci’s Salvator Mundi, went for $0bn.

The ten most expensive historical artifacts ever sold at auction, combined, comes to $0bn.

The most expensive superyacht ever just about rounds up to $1bn, and the whole point of a superyacht is to be insanely expensive.

Anyone who thinks billionaires should be incentivized with more money isn’t paying attention.

Make new tax brackets as well that go up to 80% or whatever as well. Dont let them use the wealth without paying taxes.
