Financial obesity is an existential threat to any society that tolerates it, and needs to cease being celebrated, rewarded, and positioned as an aspirational goal.
Corporations are the only ‘persons’ which should be subjected to capital punishment, but trillionaires should be forced to transition into billionaires, and billionaires should be euthanised through taxation.
I don’t understand. What’s ironic about a socialist opening some city owned grocery stores?
Nothing in the slightest, Musk is just a dumbass with more money than any human should have.
He’s also got less sense than I thought a human was capable of, which is saying something, if he was smart he’d have fucked off after PayPal like Tom did when he sold MySpace
Wait, Tom is gone? He was a friend of mine!
Tom was and remains all of our friends, he left so it would be that way
MySpace
My Space may be back.
So ive heard… im keeping my distance for the time being, seems like a trap
I would be doing secret AI experiments with a small AI center if I was in his place.
Sounds dumb, until you realize I would be architecting the actual algorithm myself, and not for corporate goals.
The irony is that Musk, self-proclaimed super genius, doesn’t know what irony is while calling things ironic.
He’s like an egg who thinks it’s caviar.
Isn’t it like rain on your wedding day?
I thought it was more like a traffic jam, when you’re already late
he would like the days when children return to the precious stone mines in South africa.
That would be emerald-y
probably force them to go africa, south america again and mine rare earth minerals
He’s like a spoon who thinks it’s a knife.
Alright, alright. I see you’ve played knifey spoony before.
I actually haven’t, ironically. Is that a sex thing?
Only if you’re in Australia
An innocent Simpsons reference I’m afraid.
The irony is, he’s calling something irony and no one understands what he means.
In his empty head, there might be some connection to the Conservative Propaganda about people starving under Socialism, vs a Socialist opening grocery stores, and we’re supposed to see that as “Irony,” rather than popping a hole in their “Socialists Starve People” trope.
He’s just not smart enough, or sober enough, to follow the mental path beyond “Har, har, look at this Socialist with food, har, har. Ironic, huh?”
I had to sink to the lowest level but I think the perceived irony is that a socialist is opening a store which some people think is inherently capitalist
Thank you, my brain was failing to understand even in theory what point he thought he was making…
Even if it is dumb, I at least like to know the reason…
By Zeus, that makes sense now.
it apparently requires an ID for… something…
Imagine when he learns about library cards.
Or driver’s licenses
I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t even have one.
If I was a gazillionaire I would probably not drive.
Of course, I would also be a class traitor to the rest of the capital class and soon stop being a gazillionaire…
Shit. I’m gazillionpoor and I don’t drive
Ah, I see. And he’s saying it’s ironic for them to require an ID when they are against people having to show their ID at the polls. Right?
It’s been clarified that you won’t need an id to buy. It would be more akin to a loyalty card. Seems they want to use it to track usage patterns and cut off scalpers.

Thank you for that clarification.
Gommonysm 100Trillion starbed hardyharharhar
You need to dial down your intellect to the extend of a 12 yo, than you understand the mind of trillionaire.
The meme of communism being the root cause of the starvation in the USSR and China is infuriating to me because it stops people from seeing the valuable lesson that’s actually there: the destruction caused by ideology taking precedence over evidence and a system that cannot see or adapt to evidence that it’s made the wrong decision.
A well run communist nation would have run optional trial programs to test lysenkoism. It would have slowly ramped it up, seeing if it actually produced results, all while promising those trying it that if it failed they’d be given food, and if it succeeded they’d be allowed to keep some of the surplus.
No way to safely test the 5 pests campaign though. Gotta have people who understand agriculture and ecology make agricultural decisions to stop that.
Regardless though, these problems aren’t innate to communism. Reaganism/Thatcherism are of the same nature. And fascists did it far more egregiously than anyone else, partly because their ideology is built on explicitly rejecting non ideological thought and all old ways of doing things. If communists call watering crops communism, fascists will build tents to keep their plants dry.
The USSR and China were and are not Communist countries. Just because they call themselves Communist, doesn’t mean they have anything to do with Marxism.

Absolutely correct. I’d go so far as to proclaiming it a base aspect of the human condition.
Prehistoric survival strategy that hasn’t uniformly left the species/adapted to the modern world.

Also absolutely correct, and they know that.
Even a moron like Musk, who I genuinely believe couldn’t correctly ID 10 pieces of irony even if they all floppily cockslapped his stupid face, is aware of why he peddles the drivel he does.
What is the irony? That he thinks the original plan was to give away food for free then they realized they have to charge something? I’m pretty sure charging something was always the plan just not with the intent of a for profit model.
I’ve been trying to figure out,… my conclusion is that he doesn’t know what irony means
Remember when the World Food Program showed Musk he could solve world hunger for a mere fraction of his wealth andyet he’s still here trying to dunk on people trying to put food on tables?

Is the Clanker telling the truth?
@Cock
Even fucking clankers know, yes.
But next time, maybe click on the little bubbles at the end of each continent warming paragraph, and read the sources the clanker is supposedly using and determine truth yourself.
Then come back here and share your direct understanding of that.
That’s how fucking discussion works ffs, we can all go to Google and get forcefed AI overview whenever we want.
Don’t ask it
Fuck ai
Elon Musk literally bragged that if anyone could prove $6B could end world hunger, he’d spend it. UN was, like, yeah. He, of course, dropped the conversation right then and there.
Yeah but can you imagine the humiliation if it didn’t work and he accidentally just saved millions of lives without getting rid of 100.0% of the problem?
I don’t think musk knows what irony means
Listened to too much Alanis Morissette
What are you talking about, that song was a master class in irony. A whole song about irony that is just a series of examples, none of which are actually ironic. It’s a bit ironic, don’t you think?
(And you’d have to know what irony is to not accidentally hit it at least once)
He must mean the nutrients in the green leafy vegtables.
I don’t see the problem. I’d rather people be able to afford to eat and feed their families.
Anyone who has a problem with affordable groceries, in a period of time where the cost of living outweighs being able to afford groceries; can go fuck themselves with a rusty Trident.
Who the fuck downvoted THIS???
Patrick
Well I’m upset that Musk is still breathing.
where irony?
They set up a loyalty program like you would have for any grocery store, which helps with inventory control, and these people think it’s an ID verification system.
Hope they also use that to limit the quantity of food you can buy each month. Like max 5 liters of oil or so, to avoid people that bought to resell.
I don’t think that it’s going to matter if they do. The very fact that they are offering groceries at a lower price will put pressure on grocery businesses to shave their margins, which are already quite large due to “inflation”. (These places posted insane profits in the years since tte pandemic started, and even more after it was declared over).
They’ve been complaining about voter ID and being dunked on for making the argument that you need ID to buy groceries and now the Mamdani grocery stores require a membership ID
So like a cooperative with open and voluntary membership?
Yes, plus voting is a right and buying groceries from a specific store is not
Its so adorable that you think that you’re being clever.
It’s in Musk’s use of that word when he clearly doesn’t know what it means.
The irony is that this administration is actually implementing centrally managed economy (government purchasing shares of private companies, telling directly what they can and cannot do) like in communism, with the difference that communism at least pretended to be there for the people.
Praying St Luigi
He sounds as he pretends to be smart, but he just shows as a scumbag
Pretend is the right word, musk is a imbecile who have the achievement to be rejected by some of the evilest scum on earth, who is a bunch of racist pedophiles who make profit from people misery, but there’s other assholes who are even more stupid than him and ketamine lord is able to capitalize and weaponize those morons.
So far as I can tell, his only actual contributions to any of his companies are the cybertruck, a tunnel that taxis people a distance that’s faster to walk, and making an AI a racist pedophile.
The cybertruck is so fucking stupid. I don’t know how it’s going to turn out but the slate truck looks like it’s trying to be everything Tesla’s truck should’ve been.
Musk is such a fucking waste of oxygen. This is how he tricks people into thinking he isn’t as dumb as a lobotomized sunfish. He smugly says a bunch of bullshit just vague enough to fool other idiots into playing along because they want to feel smart too. There’s nothing ironic about the news story he referenced. He’s a fucking moronic narcissist who hears something and without even bothering to process the information immediately assumes he understands it on a level beyond everyone else. And if you press him on it even slightly he’ll just say you have a tiny brain or call you a pedophile or some shit.
Where irony
It’s Alanis Morissette’s version of irony
Dontcha think?
Its a store and stores are only in capitalism.
Its too much!
He’s one of the biggest douchebags on Earth. Once people stop buying from and listening to him, we’ll be so much better off.
That’s the thing though. No one does buy anything from him and he’s still a trillionaire because it’s all theoretical. If he was forced to actually come up with the money he couldn’t.
All market capitalization values are theoretical, and his is inflated the most. However. Tesla still sells a bunch of cars unfortunately. And SpaceX’s value is mostly propped up by StarLink, plus the playing with rockets side of it gets juicy government contracts
You do know they borrow against their wealth at close to zero percent interest, right? He probably cant get a trillon in cash but he could probably get $250 billion no problem.
It’s not physically possible for him to spend the amount of money he could produce, on things that he could personally use.
The most expensive house sold in the US cost $0bn (to the nearest billion).
The most expensive private island that I can find any reference to online, Larry Ellison’s island in Hawaii, cost $0bn (likewise).
The most expensive painting ever sold at auction, Leonardo da Vinci’s Salvator Mundi, went for $0bn.
The ten most expensive historical artifacts ever sold at auction, combined, comes to $0bn.
The most expensive superyacht ever just about rounds up to $1bn, and the whole point of a superyacht is to be insanely expensive.
Anyone who thinks billionaires should be incentivized with more money isn’t paying attention.
That’s their entire business model, and we can make that illegal, you know?
Dont make it illegal, just tax them as if its realized gains when they do it. If they pay it back, give them a tax credit.
Make new tax brackets as well that go up to 80% or whatever as well. Dont let them use the wealth without paying taxes.
Didn’t he change Twitter a while back so that all users got automatically signed up to his insane bullshit posts? idk I’ve never been
