I went through the comments and the amount of ignorance out there is distrubing. They literally started making captcha harder which is bad enough already, and now they start normalizing this through games. Tomorrow, I won’t be surprised if an AI model “Accidently” commits a fraud which had captcha to authenticate human-only interaction.
It’s still the better version of reality. Give it some time and the Captchas will be gone. Hooray! But they’re gonna replace it with some spy chip in your phone or your browser doing the attestation and spying on 24/7 on Google’s behalf.
(And as of today, if you’re a criminal doing nefarious stuff, you’re just going to pay someone in an underprivileged country to solve the Captchas for you… They’re not going to stop the really bad people as of today. I’m not a criminal, so I don’t really know, but I bet if you’re paying for tokens on some fraud bot service, you might as well pay 5ct extra and have the Captcha situation handled one way or another.)
Entire call centers exist to do nothing but bypass captchas on demand… and of course robots can be programmed to click a box with human-like motion.
