BREAKING: House Adopts Rep. Crank’s Resolution to Condemn Socialism

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Representative Jeff Crank’s (CO-05) resolution to condemn socialism in all its forms and the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), passed the U.S. House of Representatives with a vote of 220-192.
Socialism is one of the most destructive ideologies in world history, and the DSA have permeated elections across the country and have co-opted much of the Democratic party. While freedom-loving citizens across the country know that socialism is the first step to communism, and that every communist regime has brought only oppression, murder and starvation, the highest levels of Democrat leadership refuse to denounce DSA for fear of political retribution among their ranks.
America is seeing a troubling rise in support for socialism. This resolution condemns socialism in all its forms, as well as highlights the un-American tenets that DSA aspires to, including allowing noncitizens and incarcerated criminals to vote in American elections. It also reaffirms support for free, fair, and secure elections and the principle that American elections should be decided by American citizens.
“It is imperative as Members of Congress that we recommit ourselves to the Constitution and stand firm against this insidious push for socialism,” said Rep. Crank. “The vast majority of Democrats voted against my resolution to condemn socialism in all its forms. 10-15 years ago, a resolution like this would’ve passed the House unanimously. The DSA is a threat to the American values that make our nation great. This evening’s vote showed who stands for freedom, and others who stand with socialism.”

It’s not the same. When communists cause starvation, it’s because they’re attempting to rebuild a broken food system they inherited to end centuries of mass deprivation. When the US causes starvation, it’s on purpose to destroy independent nations. You can see how deeply evil socialism is with this framing.

192 no votes is a shocking number, means DSA is viable as a potential spanner in the works of state/capital collaboration and the two party duopoly

I think the reason that most Democrats voted against the resolution is that it contains a section which says congress should support Trump’s voter ID bill (SAVE act). 8 Democrats voted for the resolution and 2 Democrats voted ‘present’.
Keep in mind the ‘rotating villain’ structure of the Democrat Party. Democrats allow just enough votes for Republicans to get what they want while trying to maintain the appearance that there is a real opposition.
For things like labor rights and gay rights sure but for more explicitly anti socialist stuff they are usually just as reactionary as the Republicans. Like a few years ago there was the Horrors of Communism thing that was 328–86. And last year there was a resolution to do a better job on spreading anticommunist propaganda through state schools that got 327-62
I didn’t say that Democrats are against anticommunism. Half of the bill’s text is about supporting the SAVE act, which is trump’s bill to enforce voter ID. Democrats have to maintain the appearance that they love voting.
