Its frustrating that they only throw the blame at Trump and “MAGA world” when every single Republican voted for this ridiculous ICE budget.

The silence from the Democratic leadership is deafening. Yes there are a few non-progressives that have gone rogue, but for the most part it has been all’s quiet in the chickenshit front.

Americans will whine “but what about the democrats?!?” all the way down the road to fascism.

Y’all didn’t vote for them, there’s nothing they can do. How about blame the fascism on on the fascists doing it?

The democratic leadership are in the absolutely best position to lead the people against fascism though. You’d expect someone like their presidential candidate to stay in the spotlight, being a leader and showing the people what to do, by being at the protests, help planning civil disobedience against fascism, give people hope and will to fight, but instead the people have been left to fend for themselves, with no actual structure or union to gather behind. It’s doomed to fail if the resistance doesn’t have any leadership.

We need more politicians like Mayor Joker.

“Can you tell us what you’re doing here today?”

“Some mayoral candidates take bribes from Big Money. I’m skipping the bribe part and just taking the money, and giving it back to the citizens. Here’s your money, chumps!”

“What do you hope to accomplish as Mayor of Gotham?”

“Where to start? Education reform. Every child should have the choice to be in a dual immersion class, and be bilingual. I also want free universal healthcare. Do you think Arkham would have a three year waitlist if everyone had access to free mental health services? And the rich one percenters are gonna pay for it all. Big changes are gonna happen. Hahahaha!”

“You want the rich to pay for all this, are you like a, socialist?”

“I’m not like a socialist. I AM a socialist. And together, we’re gonna fix this city!”

No, not really. Democrats are doing fuck all to fight back. A couple are speaking out sternly, but few are taking actual action. This isn’t just at the federal level, but also state level. Find the loopholes, sue to slow down progress, do literally anything to obstruct this. Instead we get crickets.

Just a reminder that the defense attorney, for the soldiers that gunned down the people during the Boston massacre, was none other than future president John Adams.

He successfully argued they were in fear for their lives.

America has NEVER cared about the masses of people. It has always and will always defend and justify the actions of state violence. The American revolution was very much just a transfer of power from the Royal British to the rich ruling class in the American colonies. And it has remained that way to this day.

What is happening now is nothing more than the ruling class resorting to fascist acts, once again, on its own population to maintain that power.

By that time the “minute men” were already a fairly well armed and organized militia, as far as militias go. I see no viable parallel today, even in nascent form.

Any armed group greater than around four people is compromised by federal law enforcement, the far right learned this decades ago.

Tell that to the Black Panthers who are actually being quite effective in their communities right now. There are a few videos of Black Panthers Philly that are pretty interesting recently. They should make every American proud. Standing up for not only their own rights but their communities rights.

      There’s an alternative…

It’s super easy, would require zero bloodshed.

      Armed protest.

I’ve never seen a cop shoot a protester when other protestors were in eyeshot with rifles.

I’ve never even seen ICE where a protestor is visibly armed, because if they see that, they fucking leave.

The reason shit is so bad is because ICE knows they’ll never be held accountable in court. Literally the only way they believe they could ever face any consequences is if someone shoots them in the moment. And rather than behave when they see armed protestors, they just go to where no one is armed.

So fuck it, this Merica. Carry a big scary fuck off rifle.

I guarantee ICE won’t run up on you. And if everywhere they went people showed up with rifles, they’d stop going places all together.

I think the opposite - in normal times I wouldn’t think cops would fire on armed protesters, but let’s face it - that’s ICE’s endgame. They’d love nothing more to claim “fear” and unleash the beast.

If that was true, then why is it so hard to find a picture/video of ice with a single visibly armed protester in view?

Like, by your logic they’d be looking for it, yet I’ve been trying and failing to find an example of them just existing with 100 yards of an armed protestor…

And I can’t understand why people are shocked ICE agents shit and run when they see a gun.

This only works in open carry states. In states where it’s not legal (which is a lot of them) armed protestors are just the pretext needed for some mass murder by the state.

I’m not arguing for compliance. Just saying that in states like Maryland (where I live) there is almost no legal wiggle room for open carry and even the local cops (forget feds) will use it as an excuse to fuck you up.

          Everywhere is different, but:

Whoever carries a BB gun, rifle, or shotgun on or about the person in a public place is guilty of a gross misdemeanor. A person under the age of 21 who carries a semiautomatic military-style assault weapon on or about their person in public place is guilty of a felony. However, one may carry a pistol or a long gun openly with permit to carry a pistol because, the law states that the prohibition on carrying does not include the carrying of a BB gun, rifle, or shotgun by a person who has a permit under section 624.714.

          https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_laws_in_Minnesota

In Minnesota it’s illegal to open carry a rifle, but only if you don’t have a pistol carry permit. If you have a pistol carry permit, you can open carry a rifle because the rifle law isn’t talking about people with pistol permits apparently.

It takes a form, up to 30 days to process, and lasts 5 years. And they can’t even deny you for smoking weed:

          https://dps.mn.gov/divisions/bca/public-services-bca/firearms-information/permit-carry

armed protestors are just the pretext needed for some mass murder by the state.

Name the last time that happened then if that’s the response.

If you’re saying just trump will use it as an excuse, what the fuck makes you think he wouldnt just lie and say it happened anyways?

Sooner than that, we’re already familiar with unchecked police brutality, anti-protest tactics, corruption of accountability systems. Normalizing happens pretty damn fast when people already expect the behavior.

They will escalate their violence in relationship to the nature of the resistance. Their only solution to opposition is some form of violence, so expect it. If they get swarmed by large groups, they will absolutely open fire on crowds. To reduce the damage of this predictable behavior, always leave them a means of escape, a golden bridge to retreat over. If you block them in, they are far more likely to panic and go apeshit on their perceived threats without any regard for anyone or anything but themselves, and will do so with whatever hardwear and equipment they have.

They will then learn from it, request more tools to address the risks, get it from this admin, and then the next altercation will be more violent from the start. It’s an arms race between ICE and the public and ICE will eventually win. Fighting them outside these altercations must be done to be effective. Fight them anywhere that violence as a solution is not possible, best where their use of violent solutions actually hurts them, that is where they are weakest, most vulnerable. Like people disowning them, ending their relationships, refusing every interpersonal encounter.
