Not really bashing the collection of figures. It’s good to have a hobby and building models is rewarding for some. Vidya games is something everyone loves. Consuming slop is what we all do, so no issues with the slop-center either. Just. The lights. Everything that isn’t a toy is grey. The suspicious of a kitchen or bathroom in the supposed highlight of his home. Slop me up buttercup.
When i lived on my own i don’t think my place was ever clean enough to take a pic and post it online so like… looks fine to me? Needs more goofy shit for my taste but it’s obviously taken care of
Yknow what? It’s clean. I give it a B
Fr
See, that’s the part that makes it feel a little off. Now, I will grant that I’m sure they cleaned up before taking the pictures and if I came to their house on a random Tuesday it would be more cluttered. But being too neat gives it the vibe of a place that’s not actually lived in. Like it’s not a place they go to enjoy their hobbies and media, it’s a show to impress other other dudes who are into these franchises.
Organized mess beats whatever the fuck these pictures are trying to convey.
The bar is in hell
My cat only sees a myriad of places to throw up.
He has furniture i give him a passing grade
Come at me haters but I see this and I’m like a child lives here
It just doesn’t say anything about like, real life, it looks like the home of someone who mostly plays video games and watches ‘content’ in an expensive personal theater. I wrote this out and was judging this person before looking at the rest of the pics, I feel even more judgemental now having looked at the post just because of the sheer amount of toys and plastic things on display, nothing wrong with that necessarily but that is ALL there is, and thinking of the money they must have spent on toys for themselves to put on a gray shelf makes me hate Amerikkka more.
and thinking of the money they must have spent on toys for themselves to put on a gray shelf
283,000 $
In a good way or a bad way?
Bad way. Someone in the thread put it really well “if I was in there I would be snapping a pic to send to my friends and planning my exit”
phew
Cw ableism

I know like 4 people who have this specific setup at their house. It’s kind of sad.
I wish I had my own place
These “I’m mysterious and silent” type guys used to be cool and nonconformist and proud of niche hobbies, now it’s just normie shit (Hollywood, Wh40k, Brandon Sanderson etc).
I never thought my hundreds of thousands of dollars of Funko Pops and I would be able to afford to own a home. Yet here we are, living our best lives, together!avengers poster
Gulag
- Why do you need 4 gaming PCs?
- There’s no photos of OP or any other human being they might know. Nothing that indicates particular ownership by an individual. Just an accumulation of objects around the space where a personality should be.
- Hits me as a person that never does incremental upgrades, or reuses any parts. They just build a new PC whenever the next generation GPU comes out.
i tend to hold onto computers long enough that the cpu socket changes so i can’t really re-use shit. save up for the better part of 10 years, buy something top of the line, save up for another ten years.
Most people do that I think. I have been using the same 2 cases and power supplies for over a decade tho.
There’s no excuse to not reuse the case especially since the cases aren’t even that different.
Exactly! The fact that this person isn’t using that Alienware case in 2026 is the most egregious part.
The inside of my closet has the scavenged corpses of like 6 or 7 machines some just the case, some in various states of dissection. Having 4 functional PCs? Excessive. But like others said this sounds like the kind of dweeb who has every PC he’s used since '95 on display.
Nah, this is a lot worse than that. It’s just three contemporary gaming PCs with an older model PC. There’s no reason why he can’t reuse parts or reuse those PCs as home servers. At least the 95 era PC has obsolete parts (pre PS/2 ports, pre-DDR RAM) and looks different (beige box).
If i had the money and space id have my dream pc from each era from win 95 to now
Just an accumulation of objects around the space where a personality should be.
If I walked into this dude’s place that would probably be the biggest concern to me. It’s clean, organized which is good, but don’t you have any knick-knacks or memories or fun objects someone gave you? My place is full of colorful things that have sentimentality. This just looks like the front page of what’s cool from Man Magazine or some shit.
EDIT: I looked at his other pics, he has a fuck-load of colorful figures and models on some shelves (and wall of mounted bluray cases…), but still looks soulless, my point stands.
but don’t you have any knick-knacks or memories or fun objects someone gave you?
Sure, because everyone is capable of being able to go out (or even have the time), or even be able form emotional bonds with people… Surely this criticism (and others like it in this very thread) isn’t reminding me why I hate being around people, why I keep anything and everything to myself, why I willingly work night shift, why I always feel like I never belong anywhere I go.
I agree with you, I felt like my critique could be hurtful to people that struggle with that sort of stuff, most of my life I have had very few friends and felt excruciating social anxiety and inability to fit in pretty much always, until sort of recently when it’s gotten mildly better. Having the things that reflect these sorts of connections doesn’t make a person better or worse, I didn’t mean to imply any sort of judgement on anyone besides this particular person.
It’s turning ones self into a brand
I think the 3 PCs are the old ones? Like retired players jerseys
edit: and to point #2 - exactly! Nothing that shows someone is living there. Again not showing your kitchen, I know this might seem like a weird obsession, but come on! IT’S THE HEART OF THE HOME IS WHAT KITCHY PEOPLE LIKE ME SAY
Idk, I actually cook and so our kitchen is pretty well used, but it looks very utilitarian. The walls are even a similar shade of gray to the one in the op (not my choice and there will be a reckoning some day).
But there’s also no indication that the outdoors exists. No plants, windows are all shaded, no exterior spaces.
Nothing wrong with a utilitarian kitchen. The reason I am poiting out its absence is that a kitchen is a place where you make stuff, and all this guy does is consume
Couldn’t get a picture of the kitchen 'cause of the shine off 10,000 sets of untouched copper cookware hanging from the ceiling
And a dirty air fryer that is the obvious workhorse.
I think the new thing is french cheramic cooking utensils
It’s odd that there are a mouse and keyboard hooked up to each PC.
It could almost be nice, if they were spaced out in such a way to make it seem like they were set up and ready to go for LAN parties or something, but it doesn’t feel like that, it doesn’t feel inviting.
What’s bothering me more is that the retro consoles aren’t in the TV room. Everything is just for show.
The whole home seems like a museum exhibit
It looks very boring but dreamcast is swag. The only interior design I want is old library because it does something to my brain. That or I want to live in a Cathedral.

Creaking wood, whispering, ticking of clock, shuffling of pages… OOOOoooooOOooOOoOoOOhh bonus points for faint musty odour
That or I want to live in a Cathedral.
Evian bottle themed room, got it.
Gorgeous
First picture made me think of the Cincinatti Library
The top one looks vaguely AI but I want green mushroom lamp
Vaulted ceilings with tall windows are where it’s at.
I can’t believe this person likes their walls and lights a different color than the way I like my walls and lights
This is an outrage
I need to let everyone know I am morally superior to this person because my lights are a different color
You’re in c/slop, that’s what we do babyyy
My walls are grey and white too. It’s not the colors, it’s what’s done with them.
But I do just hate on his individual style I suppose
But hey, I guess I should just respect the botted ad for Ballerina when I see it.Edit: let people enjoy things
It’s funny that you took the two most normal pictures from the gallery.
redditor for 1 day
is indeed weird
I felt like they were the least normal lol. Like the rest at least has some indication of a hobby or something. On the other hand I should have taken the others because we hate to consoom I suppose.
The TV corner and the gaming desk seem like places where you can actually do activities. The other rooms feel like a comic store not like a home.
Funny I got the vibe from the room with the figures and the table that it was a place for building models and stuff. Legit the only place where I understood the harsh lights, even though I still would have chosen differently myself. I guess it’s because I’m personally trying to cut back on media, so I don’t view it too favourably.
Or maybe it’s because the rooms I didn’t include felt purposeless, which to me means they usually have some hobby purpose, so I just sort of assume they’re for something when I see them. Because who just has a wall of purchases?I have couple of lamps like the one in the living room, they are as diffuse as you can get at that size, dimmable and let you adjust the light temperature as well. It’s really the perfect light source if you don’t want to think about it much.
There are no tools, no unfinished models, if it’s a hobby than it’s a completed hobby which feel very sad to me. But that might be a me problem. The first thing I think when I see a plastic figurine is landfill. But maybe it actually gives other people joy to see their models. (Insert plot of Lego movie).
I agree with you, it just took you pointing it out for me to see it.
Don’t be snide like this. Especially when you’re doing a rhetorical conflation that invalidates the first critique, pretending you’re actually criticizing the ad.
😠
Sorry
You have been forgiven.
IN THAT CASE I’M NOT SORRY NO TAKESBAKSIES HAHAHAHA

Still forgiving you. Not letting this cycle of violence continue.
😌
I’m making it my mission to end the cycle of forgiveness
You both better watch out, you’re on the shitlist now
NOOOOOOOOoooooo

🤯🫨😠😠😠😠
sorry

I have friends who own their own home and at first I thought this was literally their place, only way I can tell it isn’t is because there aren’t cat toys and dirty clothes everywhere (It was awful to be there when they first moved in, but it feels a little more “lived in” now, and they have more interesting decorations now).
I don’t understand this decorating mindset, where everything has to be derivative of some kind of product. Maybe I don’t get it as an “artsy” person because all the artistically and musically inclined people I know decorate their homes with paintings and knickknacks from places they’ve been, stuff with sentimental value.
I suppose that’s what the movie posters and lego millennium falcons and funko pops are to these people, they are sentimental, because some people mostly experience the world through their tv screens, through fiction.
I was not expecting to feel sad about a pretty standard millennial living room and study today, but here we are.
Pairing Godzilla vs T-Rex like they are anywhere near the same size is a true red flag crime. Godzilla could literally crush T-Rex under a foot.
