ah, i see you watch it on IMIN
Solid joke. Took me a second to
My nephew only watches movies in a small window on his laptop. I said “wow, you’re a real cinephile, huh?”. He replied with “yeah if that’s a portmanteau of cinema and defile.”
You should watch it in vhs.
Good afternoon Sir, we’re with r/hometheater and we have a warrant for your arrest
ahem c/hometheater here

I came to post an image from this scene as well. I see that’s been taken care of.
I gotta give the showrunners credit. “Dinner Party” was both the most cringe-inducing episode as well as one of the best of the series. That’s really hard to achieve.
Snip snap snip snap
You have no idea the physical toll, that three vasectomies have on a person.
This image triggers my PTSD.
A lot of people in the room? You need more space? *moves TV 2 inches* Voila. Right into the wall.

Got my IMAX ratio TV all ready for it.

unlike most conventional film projectors, the film runs horizontally so that the image width can be greater than the width of the film stock.
Nolan could have filmed in any ratio he wanted. Choosing 4:3 is not a technical constraint. He basically chose the opposite of cinemascope.
It’s the IMAX aspect ratio 1.43:1 to be precise. He just wants to fill the entire screen for the immersion. They still frame the shot as if it’s a 1.85:1 or 2.39:1, for non IMAX theaters, but in IMAX it just doesn’t show black bars on the top and bottom and your entire peripheral vision is filled. Most of the on screen action still happens within that framing in the center.
Watching the Odyssey on the smallest TV you could find on the set Backrooms is really the only way to truly see the film exactly how Nolan originally intended. Unfortunately many of us will have to settle for the profoundly worse experience of going to our local theater or streaming it in our living room.
And isn’t a tiny screen how Nolan watched the dailies while filming? He certainly didn’t have a 50’ screen in his trailer on the beach in Greece.
You are watching it exactly how Nolan watched it.
Since it was shot in film he probably watched it on a projector in a theater.
A daily is a print done the same day as shooting for review. Here’s a film editing station that would be used to review dailies.

You do realize he watched the dailies after seeing the filming live, right?
Real film heads know the only true way to experience Nolan’s vision for The Odyssey is to watch him film it live.
Nope.
Time travel to the future, get an Acme Mynd-Reeder Helmet, and then go back and listen to Homer recite it while peeping into his mind and experiencing it as he’s imagining it.
And don’t cheap out and get the Mynd-Reeder Model 17. Go all out and get the 23.
Why does he have a Welsh accent?
Here’s a behind the scenes shot.

Notice he’s not looking at the actors but at a tiny tablet that is tied to an inline digital camera attached to the imax film camera so he can see the framing from the point of view of the camera.
You do realize that you’ve shown one picture out of a process that took over three months?
It’s like getting a picture of a driver looking in their rearview mirror and claiming it proves they never looked at the road.
You do realize this is a joke? Op posted a tiny screen and I compared it to the tiny monitor that Nolan used during filming to see that it looked the way he intended.
It’s 2026 and that joke isn’t the dumbest thing I’ve seen posted.
Did you mean to say “is the dumbest” ?
Wasn’t he there? Like, live?
Yeah but the camera lens captures a different view than your eyes. So directors watch “dailies” . It’s the print of filming done earlier in the day that the director reviews.
Reminder that he didn’t give a fuck about controlling outbreaks of pre vaccine COVID and that he wanted to force people to see Tenet in cinemas.
You know, jam hundreds of people into a closed room for two and a half hours so that you can have super spreader events multiple times a day.
I watched that shit on my phone while sick in bed. Thank you for reminding me that all his films deserve the same treatment.
Brother he’s a film director not a politician.
Yea, the wealthy have no power, and therefore, no responsibility.
I mean, fair, but he’s not “head of multiple mega corporations with massive political sway” wealthy, he’s just “very successful film director for many years” wealthy.
Looking it up, he’s worth $250 million, or about 1/3200 the worth of Elon Musk.
He still controlled (heavily influenced) how the film was released. That sort of influence in your own industry is control.
It not only affected the safety of everyone employed own chain (eg. theater workers), is put public safety at risk. The attitude of “well it was not illegal, so it’s governments fault, not his.” Is part of the problem.
I still think you’re over blowing the level the issue.
Following a negotiation between Nolan and Warner Bros. executives, the studio arranged for the film to be released in seventy countries, with a run time of 150 minutes, on August 26,[105][106][107] following preview screenings in Australia and South Korea on August 22 and 23.[108][109] The film opened in select cities in the United States on September 3, gradually expanding in the ensuing weeks.[105] On September 4, it was released in China.[110] The lack of available movies afforded it more screens per multiplex than would otherwise have been possible.[111]

them dates are before the vaccine became available. He drove a bargin as hard as he could, to get as many people to see the film as he could.
Yeah, he’s not a politican, but neither was Typhoid Mary.
Eh, still better than AI-riddled CG slop.
Covid was just an offshoot of a cold.
How to show everyone, for not reason, that you’re incredibly dumb and ignorant. Well done.
And shit is just an offshoot of food. Why don’t you eat that?

Would be even better if it was mounted above a fireplace
I know someone that’s done it like so.
Normally I would agree, but if this is a bedroom and they’re lying down, I think the angle works. I actually want to raise my living room TV a bit (it’s on an entertainment stand, not the wall) because when I fully recline my recliner to stretch my legs, I’m looking down too much to be comfortable.
Needs a projector that can be rotated to project onto the ceiling.
Time to mount the TV on orbital rails.
What’s the opposite of IMAX?
UMIN?
ISQUINT
IMIN? I CRY?
Nolan would strangle this person with a strip of 70mm film if he saw this poat
The shadow.
Boomer horror: the monster in the lake ate the campers
Zoomer horror: you invited your friend into your housePerfect room to find the hat man
CREEEEPY
The sound better be mono.
2.5” cones in that tv make it sound amazing. Like listening to it through a tin can I imagine
