Really had fun with the first one, but the developer seems like he’s really into AI, and this steamheader just looks like horrible AI… Anyone has any opinion on it? :)

So I’m torn on this. The store art looks AI as fuck, but I don’t think the game assets do. Steam does require an AI disclosure on store pages, which this product lacks, but they could just be lying.

    Dunno.

This is exactly where I am. I won’t support AI-shit, and it looks sooo AI. Yet, Grave Keeper 1 was fun af. :/

The game assets themselves seem fine, the voices seem sussy (playing on Xbox Series S) a bit text to speak but leaning AI (not standard). I will have to evaluate a bit further before deciding.

No idea on AI but I was against the publisher already. They’re past the point of venture capital, but years ago they already had an IPO worth millions and were still doing crowd-funding+EA+multi-account unpaid self-promotion.

There’s also the Hello Neighbor situation, and a decent amount of their other games on Steam have mixed reviews.

For AI, I did stumble across this:

At least one video game company has considered using large-language model AI to spy on its developers. The CEO of TinyBuild, which publishes Hello Neighbor 2 and Tinykin, discussed it during a recent talk at this month’s Develop:Brighton conference, explaining how ChatGPT could be used to try and monitor employees who are toxic, at risk of burning out, or simply talking about themselves too much.

That’s a hypothetical, but might tell on some mindset.

I’ve played an hour of the new one and it kinda sucks. I don’t like it, anyway. and I played a TON of GK1. I’m already looking forward to pirating the new hellraiser game because the CEO or CFO or whatever is a huge AI dickhead. The only other game i’m looking forward to is the Lego City Skylines. I hope they don’t screw that one up with AI.

Urg i mean i play this game that used AI art to get it out and then they been replacing it slowly (SOVL)… and another that used it for the tech tree button pics (sins of a solar empire 2).

I dont like it but if your using it as placeholder or for somthing unimportant then whatever but it does make games look cheap.

Funny enouth this is it AI stuff has made artists start drawing in different some times janky ways so there is no doubt its not AI, which is a funny thing art history wise (also AI art fails quite a bit with pure black and white pictures due to how AI imagie diffusion works.
