The same generation of people who taught us never to trust what we see on TV. Then the internet came along and they all became incredibly trusting all of a sudden. Maybe if Chat GPT tells them they can fly if they jump off of a roof while wearing a red cape, they’ll finally get it.
I just don’t get the headline on this. If AI gave good advice it wouldn’t have killed everything. What it should say is the man trusted that AI gave good advice he was mistaken.

The people pushing these AI chatbots should be liable. Make them do farm work. Reconnect them with the earth.
There have been cases where chatbots were held liable for what they said.
When an Air Canada chatbot told a passenger he could get a bereavement discount on returning from a funeral instead of having to arrange it up front, the courts found that Air Canada was responsible for that advice and had to honour it, even if it wasn’t their policy.
But, good luck getting them to hold the word guessing machine companies responsible for when someone talks directly to it and blindly follows its advice. I’m sure that among the pages and pages of terms and conditions that people just ignore, there’s something in there saying that it’s just for entertainment and nothing it says should be taken seriously.
To a certain extent, people need to make responsible choices. I really hope that, in time, people realize that talking to an LLM chatbot is not ever a responsible choice.

The real tragedy here is a 67 year old still working a farm.
I know a guy in his late 80’s who’s still farming. He’s told me a million times that the day he stops farming will be the day that he dies, and I believe him. He’s got enough money to retire - he’s just in it for the love of the game.

A lot of farmers love the land. I had loved ones who kept boutique farming between chemo treatments. Nurturing living things to do cool stuff for people (like be food and clothes and drugs) is gratifying. People just want to do that sometimes.

The UI in game is hard for tracking a few things as picks are done, I didn’t want to type up 200 players in a spreadsheet to quickly see them all. Asked Claude to keep an eye on salary stats and depth chart as I picked out players. That’s it… “How much do they all cost. How’s the depth look”. Saves me clicking between a bunch of pages.
Salary cap was blown out by $15M.
It assumed if a player was backup or on the bench, they didn’t earn money, only when on ice the salary worked. This was Opus too…
